Volunteer Opportunities

     

NexGen Preschool (Birth - PreK) 

  • LIFE Group Leader:  LIFE Group Leaders share God’s Word with children, ages birth through age 5 or until they enter kindergarten, by modeling, teaching and showing God’s love.
  • Extended Teaching Care Leader:  Extended Teaching Care Leaders (ETC) provide appropriate care to each child in his or her class, sharing the Bible lesson and verse from the LIFE Group lesson and show God’s love to them through their interactions with each child.
  • Preschool Desk Leader:  Preschool Desk Leaders check children in and out of the preschool area using our approved security system, greeting each child and family with a warm smile and friendly welcome.
  • Preschool Cleaning Team:  Responsible for cleaning our preschool toys and equipment each week.
  • Mission Friends Leader:  Mission Friends Leaders have a love of missions and enthusiastic about teaching preschool children the importance of sharing God’s Word with the world.
  • AWANA Leader:  AWANA Leaders are mentored by a seasoned AWANA leader in order to share with children Bible lessons and key verses in God’s Word so that they can apply them to their lives.
  • Vacation Bible School Leader:  VBS Leaders follow the chosen VBS curriculum, using Bible lessons, Bible verses, activities and games for one week, typically in the summer month of June.
  • Prayer Partner:  Prayer partners agree to pray for preschool leaders, families and children on a weekly basis.  He or she may be given specific names to pray for every week. 

NexGen Kids (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)

  • LIFE Group Leader: LIFE Group Leaders are trained to lead kids, K-5, along with a co-leader, by sharing God’s Word and showing his love to each person.
  • AWANA Leader: Awana Leaders are trained to lead kids to memorize God’s Word, share Bible lessons and apply it to their personal lives.
  • AWANA Snack Leader: Awana Snack Leader sets up provided snacks for kids according to the nightly schedule
  • AWANA Game Time Leader: Awana Game Leader plans and executes games for groups according to the nightly schedule.
  • Resource Room Coordinator: Resource room coordinator organizes resource rooms keeping track of what supplies need to be replenished or requested by leaders.
  • Vacation Bible School Leader: One week each summer Calvary provides a week of VBS. Leaders are needed to teach, provide activities, snacks, missions, games, music, greet, take attendance and provide security using a chosen VBS curriculum.

NexGen Students (6th - 12th Grade)

  • Fuel Meal Cooks: These volunteers can serve weekly or monthly during the Fuel season (September-April). Volunteers arrive between 3:30-4:00 p.m. on Sunday nights in order to cook dinner for our students.. They also serve dinner at 5:00 and help clean up afterwards.
  • Fuel Leader: These volunteers hang out and worship among our students, while growing relationships with our students and serving as crowd control.
  • Fuel Small Group Leader: These volunteers lead small group discussions (approximately 15 minutes) after the Fuel message. Students are divided by age and gender. The groups include prayer time and discussion of the night's message.
  • Camp Leader: These volunteers serve as adult camp sponsors who lead and serve students during the week of summer camp. This could include leading a small group, organizing recreation, serving food, and generally making sure the students have a great camp experience.
  • LIFE Group Leader: Life Group Leaders teach a small group of students on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. using our Bible Studies for Life curriculum.  LIFE Groups are broken down as follows: Middle School girls, Middle School boys, High School girls, and High School boys.

Adult Ministry

  • LIFE Group Leader:  LIFE Group Leaders teach small groups of adults on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. They also work to organize the group for ministry by recruiting individuals to fill leadership roles within the group.
  • LIFE Group Serve Leader: Plans regular service projects for their LIFE Group and updates their LIFE Group members on service opportunities in the church.
  • LIFE Group Outreach Leader: Provides follow-up contact to visitors in their LIFE Group.
  • LIFE Group Care Leader: Makes weekly contact with members of their LIFE Group (no more then five) to check in and encourage.
  • LIFE Group Events Leader: Plans regular fellowship opportunities for their LIFE Group.
  • LIFE Group Hospitality Leader: Arrives early and welcomes individuals to their group, organizes any food for Sunday gatherings (i.e. donuts!), and takes attendance.
  • Connect Group Leader: Leads a weekday support, service, study, or affinity Connect Group. Groups meet in homes, parks, businesses, or on the church campus.
  • Marriage Encouragers: Committed to helping couples develop a deeper relationship with God and their spouse.
  • Men's Ministry: Offers opportunities for building up a community of men equipped to lead themselves and their families to follow God's path for their lives.
  • Women's Ministry: Offers opportunities for women to grown in their faith and gain encouragement from God and other women.

Music Ministry

  • Praise Team: Lead in worship through singing or instrument with the Worship Team. *Tryout Required
  • Choir: Sing in our Patriotic or Christmas Musicals.
  • Children's Music: Help with Children's Music Ministry.
  • Production: Help with lights, sound, video, etc. during our worship services and special events.

Greeting & Security

  • Outside Greeters: Assist drivers with parking and welcome all attendees as they enter.
  • Inside Greeters: Welcome attendees at the door and escort guests to LIFE Groups or Worship.
  • Hospitality: Prepare coffee and ice water prior to the LIFE Group hour.
  • Security & Medical: Serve on a rotating basis to provide security for on-campus events.

Ministry Teams

  • Baptism Team: Assists our Pastoral Staff and new believers with the ordinance of baptism.
  • Bereavement Team:  Provides meals for families who have lost a loved one.
  • Decorating Team: Decorates the church campus for specific seasons and holidays.
  • Fellowship Team: Provides food and refreshments for the various activities and ministries of the church.
  • Homebound Team: Ministers to those who are not able to leave their homes, apartments, or nursing homes through personal visits, phone calls and greeting cards.

Custodial

  • Calvary Cares Crew: Provides plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, grounds care, and other types of upkeep around our facility, for our church family, and in our community.
  • Winter Weather Team: Cleans the sidewalks and parking lot when impacted by snow or ice.
  • Special Event Team: Works with our custodial staff on set-up, tear down, and clean up when we have major events. 

Miscellaneous

  • Senior Adult Luncheon: Help set up, decorate, and clean up for our monthly luncheons.
  • Men's Breakfast: Help cook and serve at our monthly men's breakfast.
  • Celebrate Recovery: Serve individuals in our CR Ministry through greeting, providing childcare, sharing testimonies, and simply loving and encouraging participants. 
  • Kids Outdoor Zone: Serve as a mentor to boys 8-18 as they meet monthly and learn to hunt, fish, hike, work on cars, camp, and more.
  • Upward Basketball: Volunteer as a basketball or cheerleading coach, referee, or prayer partner.
  • Gardening & Landscaping: Work to keep our property landscape clean and beautiful by maintaining flower beds, planting flowers, and more.
  • Grief Share: Lead others by walking alongside those who are walking through grief.
  • Calvary Connection: Assists with greeting and refreshments in the Calvary Connection Class for new and prospective members. Meets the 2nd Sunday of each month from 9:15-11:30 a.m.
  • Calvary SFR's (Spiritual First Responders): Serves others through prayer, encouragement, and support during or after the invitation either at the altar or a Connection station.
